Nail Trend Report: October 2026

In short: Our French tip, burgundy and baby blue pages were shown in Google much more often this October, and our Halloween and dark red fall pages showed up for the first time. Short square nails stayed our most visible page. The month tells a simple story: soft, clean shades for every day and deep reds as the weather turns cold.
The figures are Google Search Console impressions of Gleamy Nails pages (web and image search), October 2026 vs the previous 28 days. They show how often our pages appeared in Google, not how many people searched for each look. Method and limits.
1. Soft Baby Blue

Baby blue is a pale, milky blue that looks fresh on every skin tone. In autumn it's a cool contrast to camel coats and brown knits, especially in a sheer jelly or marble finish. Add one tiny daisy or a blue French tip if plain color feels too simple.

2. French Tips in Fall Colors

A French tip is a sheer base with a thin painted edge, and it works with any outfit. This time of year, swap the white tip for wine, chocolate or olive to make it feel seasonal. Keep the line thin and the base sheer so it still looks clean as it grows out.
Google impressions of our page: +344% (7,933 vs 1,786). 20 French Tip Nail Designs, From Classic Sheer Pink to Tie-Dye
3. Short Square Nails

Short square nails have a straight free edge and crisp corners, so they look neat even without art. They're easy to live with when you're typing, cooking and pulling on gloves, and deep autumn shades look rich on a short length. File the sides straight and the top flat for that clean outline.
Google impressions of our page: +39% (15,188 vs 10,925). 22 Short Square Nails That Are Chic and Modern
4. Butter Yellow for Autumn

Butter yellow is a creamy, soft yellow that reads almost neutral. It sits well next to cream sweaters and camel tones, so it doesn't feel out of place once the leaves turn. Wear it on all ten short nails, or as a thin tip over a sheer base.
Google impressions of our page: +81% (6,516 vs 3,591). 25 Butter Yellow Nail Designs: French Tips, Daisies and Cherries
5. Small Halloween Details

Think tiny ghosts, one spider web or a black tip instead of a full costume set. Short nails keep the art small, so the look works at the office and at a party. Put the detail on one or two accent nails and keep the rest sheer or nude.
Google impressions of our page: new this month (2,501 vs 61). 19 Halloween Nails for Short Nails, Subtle to Bold
6. Glossy and Matte Burgundy

Burgundy is a deep red with a hint of plum, and it's the classic cold-weather color. A glossy top coat makes it look like glass, while matte makes it softer and moodier. Try a burgundy French tip if a full set feels too dark.
Google impressions of our page: +327% (3,052 vs 715). 13 Burgundy Nail Designs: Glossy, Matte, French and Hearts
7. Oxblood, Wine and Black Cherry

These are the darkest reds, somewhere between red wine and black cherry. They look great on short and long nails and pair well with gold rings. One coat gives a sheer stain and two give full color, so you choose how bold you go.
Google impressions of our page: new this month (1,859 vs 0). 24 Dark Red Fall Nails in Oxblood, Wine and Cherry
8. Early Christmas Nails

Candy canes, snowflakes, plaid and gingerbread are the classic holiday motifs. Now is a good time to save ideas and book your appointment before the December rush. For something subtle, keep one festive accent nail on a red or nude base.
Google impressions of our page: +94% (1,995 vs 1,029). 23 Christmas Nail Ideas: Candy Canes, Snowflakes, Plaid and Gingerbread
9. One Small Detail

Minimalist nails are a nude or sheer base with a single detail, like a dot, a thin line or a tiny star. They go with everything and still look tidy as they grow out. It's an easy pick when your outfits are already busy with layers and patterns.
Google impressions of our page: +8% (10,240 vs 9,441). 18 Minimalist Nail Designs With One Small Detail
10. Cherry Reds and Little Cherries

Cherry nails mean bright, juicy reds or a small cherry motif on a nude base. In autumn the deeper cherry shades feel warm and festive, and a glossy finish keeps them fresh. Add a tiny heart or bow on one nail for a playful touch.
Google impressions of our page: +46% (2,166 vs 1,480). 18 Cherry Nail Designs: Deep Reds, Hearts, Bows and Florals
